ThweeKnyawStudios is a modern streetwear brand created by and for the Karen (K’nyaw) people.
Who Are the Karen / K’nyaw People?
The Karen (K’nyaw) are one of the oldest and largest Indigenous ethnic groups in Southeast Asia, originating from the mountain regions of Myanmar and Thailand. Known for their deep connection to land, language, and community, the K’nyaw people carry a rich heritage shaped by storytelling, spiritual tradition, and resilience.
Today, Karen communities are found around the world — especially in the United States — where Karen youth continue to honor their roots while shaping a new modern identity.
K’nyaw Culture & Traditional Fabrics
K’nyaw weaving is more than fabric — it is identity.
Every pattern, color, and thread carries meaning connected to:

Family lineage
-
Ceremony
-
Spiritual symbolism
-
History and tradition
These handcrafted designs are the foundation of K’nyaw cultural expression.
This is the inspiration behind ThweeKnyawStudios.
